This a fast-paced, dynamic, and evolving program that is a good fit for candidates with a strong customer service, higher education, and financial assistance programs background. The incumbent must coordinate the functions of the Financial Aid Office with the mission and strategic plan of the University of Alaska Southeast. Duties: 10Monitor and reconcile accounts of all types of student financial aid and provide reports to UAS Administration, UA Administration, and the Board of Regents. Regularly report expenditures of Federal Title IV funds (Federal Pell Grant, Federal Supplemental Education Grant, Teach Grants, Federal Direct Loans and Federal Work Study) to the US Dept. of Education via the Common Origination and Disbursement system and the Fiscal Operations and Application to Participate in Federal Aid Programs (FISAP). Communicate with outside agency representatives, Federal, State and UA auditors, and Federal Program Review staff.Essential 10Provide detailed and in-depth information about the availability of student aid and other funding possibilities to students and parents which may involve personal counseling sessions, presentations at high schools and community events and financial aid workshops.Essential 15Represent the UAS Financial Aid Office in the development of the operating budget, at Student Services Department meetings, at the UA Financial Aid Director''s audioconferences and meetings, and as general advocacy for student aid in various forums on and off campus.Essential 15Serve as a member of the UAS Enrollment Team, UAS Retention Committee, UAS Student Services Director''s group, other UAS and UA focus groups as requested and warranted, the Alaska Commission on Postsecondary Education Technical Advisory Group, and the Statewide Scholarship Selection Committee.
