Foundation Health Courier in Fairbanks, Alaska

This position drives a company vehicle to transport mail and packages, pick up materials/donations, and/or make deliveries to and from company facilities, donor locations and/or other businesses within the area. A valid driver's license is required, must be eligible for coverage under the company auto insurance policy.

Selected candidate will be required to handle and transport laboratory specimens to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital from other facilities. This Position serves as the "Face of the Lab", interfacing with Providers in the Community. The successful candidate will have strong attention to detail skills, an amazing attitude and have a clean driving record.

Position Available

Part-Time, Evenings, noon-8:30 pm.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Delivers and picks up mail, packages, materials, supplies, health records, test results, specimens, donations and/or other miscellaneous items to and from company facilities, donor sites and/or businesses within the area, as assigned.

  • Maintains assigned vehicle. Inspects vehicle on a daily basis. Assures that vehicle is kept in good running condition and that scheduled maintenance) has been completed. Maintains accurate log of vehicle runs and all other vehicle activity. Reports all mechanical problems to management.

  • May assist with transport, copy center, mail services, supply chain or clerical support work.

  • May be responsible for scheduling and planning driving routes to ensure efficient use of company resources.

Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all customers of Foundation Health with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our core and leader behaviors each and every day.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge. Requires reading, writing and mathematical skills.

Must possess a valid driver's license and be eligible for coverage under the company auto insurance policy.

Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, accurately enter data, read and interpret maps, and possess demonstrated effective customer service skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

May be required to obtain and maintain certification, such as ME Certificate, as required by regulatory agency.

Additional related education and/or experience preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENT FACTORS

FM - Typical Facilities/Maintenance/Outside Services Environment: (EVS Technician I, Electrician,

Groundskeeper, M/R Courier)

  • Able to stand, climb, stoop, bend frequently; positions require considerable physical activity

  • May be required to lift up to 75 pounds.

  • Requires ability to tolerate exposure to conditions which may include toxic chemicals, bio-hazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, heights, high temperatures or confined spaces.

  • Able to use proper body mechanics to lift supplies and equipment and push carts and dollies weighing up to 500 lbs.

  • Needs adequate color vision. Must wear protective clothing as required.

  • May be required to travel to various locations.

  • Needs ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on telephone.
