Refrigeration Engineer – Alitak, AK (Kodiak, AK)

Ocean Beauty Seafoods processing plant in Alitak, AK is looking for an experienced Refrigeration Engineer from April 1stto September 15th! Our Alitak plant is a remote facility located on beautiful Kodiak Island and we need your skills to keep our ammonia driven plant running smooth and efficiently. Ocean Beauty will provide airfare as well as room and board.

Qualified candidates will be an experienced Refrigeration engineer, OSHA certified, and haveexcellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. The position requires you to work flexible hours, be on call 24/7, and must be able to work under pressure despite constant interruptions. Applicant offered employment must pass a drug test and criminal history background check.

You must be proficient with the following equipment:

· Blast freezers

· Tunnel freezer

· Dole Plate freezers

· Vilter Screw compressor

· Ice Makers

Responsibilities:

· Start up the entire ammonia system in the spring

· Maintain, troubleshoot throughout the season

· Winterize (shut down) system for the winter

· Make ice and maintain delivery systems

· Drill with Safety equipment and practice evacuation exercises

· Order parts as necessary and for stock

· Maintain smaller (4) Freon units (all under 50 #)

· Will be on call 24/7

· Keep accurate Maintenance logs

· Some vessel (tenders/fishing boats) RSW system trouble shooting

Qualifications:

· Experience as a Refrigeration Engineer

· Familiar with Process Safety Management Program

· OSHA certified

· Must be flexible in work schedule

· Must have good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

· Must be able to work under pressure despite constant interruptions

· Must respond promptly to plant service calls
